Thank you
We're down to the last 48 hours of the campaign and we cannot believe the outpouring of support we've received! We have unlocked some magic items for the book! Please be sure to keep sharing and talking about our project so other people can see it and we can have the strongest final two days possible!
We don't have any artwork ready here, but we do have a magic item preview we are actively working on that we thought we'd share with you!
Zefira's Large Pot of Legumes
Wondrous Item
This pot carries a myriad of magical legumes that have multiple effects. Each bean, when removed, lasts up to 1 hour before disintegrating if unused. The pot magically refills with beans every dawn.
Poroto: This common bean is typically used by children for playing games. During a short rest, up to 6 creatures can participate in a game using these beans. For an hour after the short rest, each creature that participated in the game gains the benefits of a bless spell. The pot has enough porotos to be used this way once before running out.
Chocho: The pot contains 5 of these. As an action, a creature can eat one of these to gain the benefits of the longstrider spell.
Lenteja: The pot contains 3 of these beans. As an action, a character can name a creature they can see and throw one of these at the creature. The bean transforms into an unerring dart of pure energy, dealing 1d4 + 1 force damage to the target.
Haba: The pot contains a single one of these beans. A creature can dig it into the ground to cast alarm without using any spell slots.
Additionally, when the pot is put over an open fire, the lid of the pot locks up for 30 minutes, after which the pot is full of fresh soup. The pot contains enough soup to feed 6 people. Each serving provides enough nourishment to sustain a creature for 24 hours. All unused beans still in the pot are used up in the soup when it is used this way.
And again
Thankyou!
Now on to another community spotlight:

Amazing!
We've hit stretch goal #5 with one more week to go in the campaign!
Below please find a preview of one of the new forms that's been unlocked! But first a couple of updates...
1) A couple people have asked to include the hardcover as an add-on. We have done so!
2) Please meet another member of the team, Kaithzer, our art director!
¡GRACIAS!
The form of the kaliweya originates from the continent of Sotashka. Half of the Map of the kaliweya was brought over to Koboa when the Sotashkans sent a force to help fight off the Larensians at the start of the Liberation wars. The form is said to originate as a gift from a spider goddess. It is a popular form with storytellers and performers, who say it grants extraordinary abilities to weave stories the way a spider weaves a web.
Kobold Press has officially launched Tales of the Valiant RPG Kickstarter. Tales of the Valiant (ToV) is a core fantasy RPG that builds on the Creative Commons foundation of 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons. Since January, Kobold Press and the growing 5E community have taken a bold step in an evolving industry to work together to create an open, independent version of 5th Edition. Upon completion, ToV will be released to the public under an open, perpetual, and irrevocable license providing a clear future for Kobold Press, independent creators, homebrewers, and anyone’s Friday night game.
We are so excited to partner with Kobold Press and bring Koboa to Core Fantasy Roleplaying. Check out their campaign here!
Dice Pictures and new Add-ons

We are nearing the one week mark, and we want to thank you all yet again for your amazing support. We are so excited to share the world of Koboa with the world, and we are so grateful to be given that opportunity. Keep your eyes peeled for more previews as the week goes on!
Want to support Koboa more? Tell your friends about Koboa however you can - retweet us, link the KS, but more importantly, if you are able to, talk about why you are excited about our project.
-----------------------------------------
The home stretch of our campaign is here, and have we got some updates for you!
1) Resin dice pics!
The pictures of the resin dice are in from the factory, and they are gorgeous!
2) Koboa one-shot adventure
We will be publishing a one-shot adventure for Koboa, called "The Eyes of Hovchu". We have added a new add-on to the campaign to gain access to the PDF of this adventure, which we expect to be 22-26 pages long, including five battle maps and a bunch of unique artwork. We intend for it to be a good starting point for adventuring in Koboa.
3) Give the Gift of Koboa
After seeing it requested several times, we've added an add-on to donate Koboa to people in the Global South. Each time this add-on is purchased, an extra copy of Koboa will be added to a pool of Koboa Community Copies that will be up for grabs from people in the Global South. In this way we hope that economic differences in different parts of the world won't keep anyone from being able to enjoy Koboa.
4) Meet a writer on the team, Anne!
"Hey! My name is Anne, I'm 25 years old and I'm doing a master's degree in sociology. I write stories since I was a child, I learned to love listening and telling stories with my maternal grandparents. I was born and raised in the interior of Pernambuco, in the northeast of Brazil. I'm of Black and Indigenous descent and I'm very proud of those roots and I've tried to bring some of that to the Koboa universe, creating stories inspired by what my grandparents told me and scenarios based on the places where I grew up. Hope you enjoy Koboa!"
-----
We'd love to share some love with another Kickstarter!
In Luncheons and Dragonflies, you play a critter, a tiny animal native to the woodlands of Virginia, USA. You can be a mouse, bat, squirrel, or groundhog, to name a few.
Stretch Goal #4! The School of Sun and Moon
almost 3 years ago
– Sat, May 27, 2023 at 11:42:26 AM
We're so excited to have now unlocked all Subclasses! This means every core class will have two Koboan subclasses in our release.
Please meet the Wizard of the School of Sun and Moon, artwork by Jacqueline Florencio and Pablo Souza.
The old Gosani empire deeply valued learning the sciences. In particular, they had an advanced understanding of astronomy, both as a scientific and a magical area of learning. Their wizards, students of the School of Sun and Moon, used their understanding of the cosmos and the opposing forces of sun and moon to empower their spells. They discovered that all schools of magic exist in four groupings, called directions - Above, Below, Forward, and Backward. These wizards learned that they could empower themselves, and their spells, when they mixed opposing directions of magic - casting a spell from Above could be empowered while concentrating on a spell from Below, for example. They even learned how to concentrate on multiple spells at once, as long as the spells being channeled belonged to opposing directions.
Stretch Goal #3!!!!!!!

Hey all, this is Dusty, I'm the Social Media Manager behind Koboa and I'm so excited to see how far we've come. As soon as I learned about Koboa I was enamored with everything about it. Going into this crowdfunding campaign I was confident with the project, but the outpouring of support is truly incredible, and I can't thank y'all enough for making this project a reality. Can't wait to crush the rest of the stretch goals.
Spirits of all kinds and shapes exist in Koboa. Some are the spirits of the dead, helping the living or haunting them. Others are the spirits of the elements of nature - forest spirits, spirits of mountains and volcanoes, spirits of individual rocks and flowers. The Spirit Tracker Ranger makes a bond with one such spirit. They become partners in a shared goal. The powers of the spirit allow the ranger sight into the spectral realms, seeing what is otherwise invisible.
